Description
The large water door of the Grand Canal closes the entrance hall, next to a quiet, little-known viewing pier. We walk up the easy steps of the wide staircase or we can also choose to take the lift, up to the first floor -piano nobile- of the building. We enter the dwelling via the landing and the slate portal, leave our coats in the vestibule and enter the mirror-covered corridor to the left. On the adjacent side, we find a bathroom, kitchen and utility room. In front of us the light of the Grand Canal, above us a lucernario (skylight) that reveals the surprise of the house: the 17th-century fresco, the undisputed star of the living room, whose reflection bounces off the wall to the east. The mirrors in this house reflect the taste and care taken to preserve one of Venice's oldest palazzi. The view is one of the most iconic and exclusive charms to be enjoyed in the Serenissima. The living room, with its conversation corner and original stone fireplace, leads to a study, with writing desk and sofa bed, which can be separated from the living area with sliding doors. From this private library we can access the kitchen, equipped with every utensil and appliance. Walking through it, we exit through another door, which brings us back to the slate door through which we entered. In the living room, a modern staircase leads us to the sleeping area, a loft open to the living room and the Grand Canal below. The master bedroom expands in all its freshness, and the last few steps lead us to the two mirrored bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bathtub. Your private suite awaits you.
