Grächen is a municipality in the Visp district, in the canton of Valais, in the heart of the Swiss Alps. This mountain village is a paradise for family holidays in summer and winter. The ski area in Grächen, with 42 km of pistes, is manageable, snow-sure up to 2,858 m above sea level, and impresses with its unique panorama. Grächen also has an outstanding reputation as a hiking region. Keen hikers appreciate the network of 250 km of trails, which includes the forest, the Grächen mountain lake, babbling irrigation channels and the access to the glacier gate. The Hannigalp at 2,100 m above sea level is the centerpiece of the hiking region: it links the high-level trail to Saas-Fee with the Europaweg between Zermatt and Grächen—among the Alps’ most famous and beautiful high-altitude hiking routes.
