Grächen is a municipality in the Visp District, in the Canton of Valais, in the heart of the Swiss Alps. This mountain village is a paradise for family holidays in summer and winter. Passionate hikers value the network of 250 km of trails, which includes the forest, Lake Grächen, gently babbling irrigation channels, and the access point to the glacier gate. The Hannigalp at 2,100 m above sea level is the centerpiece of the hiking region: it links the high-level trail to Saas-Fee with the Europaweg between Zermatt and Grächen—the Alps’ most famous and most beautiful high-altitude hiking routes.
