The house can be reached via a gravel road from Prato Sornico in approx. 10 minutes. For loading and unloading things, it is only a few metres to the house, while the car can be parked approx. 50 m from the house. The house was tastefully and lovingly extended and completely renovated in 2018. The main entrance leads into the modern and cosy living room with open fireplace and gas cooker. The shower/WC is also located on this floor. A staircase leads to the upper floor, where there is a bedroom. The electricity is supplied by solar panels. There is also a small storage room next to the rustic cottage. Several stone terraces with granite tables and benches invite you to enjoy life and the sunny days. The highlight of this property is the stream that flows directly in front of the house, where you can cool off on hot days. An ideal holiday paradise!

It is the result of the merger of two adjoining villages in 1864. Prato has large bourgeois houses that indicate that in the past, part of its population had a high standard of living. They were wealthy families, enriched by successful emigration to major European states. These were the Berna, Gagliardi, Belli, Pfiffer and Guidini families, who were able to give the village an almost urban-like character. Prato is at the entrance to a secondary valley of the same name, which is vast and rich in alpine pastures. Sornico consists of a small group of houses clustered around the high bell tower and the ancient San Martino mother church, which for centuries welcomed the faithful from the entire valley. This village was in fact the main town of the Lavizzara community, which had also built the courthouse here where, during the three centuries of Swiss rule, the bailiff administered justice every fortnight.
