Rougemont: Location and surroundings of this property

In the heart of the mountains in the region Pays d'Enhaut with an altitude of almost 1000 meters, near the border of canton Bern, Rougemont immediately seduces with the beauty of its architectural heritage. Dating back to 1572 and rebuilt in the 1750s, the famous castle consists of a massive square building with an inner courtyard. The adjoining church of Rougemont is an exceptional heritage site and one of the most important places in the Pays-d'Enhaut region.
Explore the charming village and discover many traditional farmhouses from the 17th century, with carvings, engravings, paintings, flowers and inscriptions decorated facades.
The cable car takes you from Rougemont up to more than 2100 meters to the top of "La Videmanette", where a magnificent view of the Bernese mountains awaits you. During the summer season, it is an ideal starting point for hikers on contemplative walks or you can ride your mountain bike from the summit to Rougemont on the downhill track. Climbing enthusiasts will find plenty to do on the Rübli right next to the resort, climbing routes of varying degrees of difficulty are available. If you can handle the feeling of emptiness under your feet and if endurance is one of your characteristics, you can try out one of the 3 via ferrata routes. In winter the longest downhill run starts from the panoramic terrace with over 7 km and 1160 m of difference in height. The slope will tempt you with beautiful carving sections, but also regularly repays your skiing efforts with flatter stretches. For amateur skiers, the descent from Les Gouilles to Chalberhöni is perfect for warming up. In winter you can also enjoy the cross-country ski trail, some passages in the forest will take you into a magical atmosphere thanks to the snow-covered trees.
