SHOPPING AND COMMERCIAL CENTRES IN BENIDORM

La Marina Centro Comercial / Shopping Center

First opening its doors back in 2000, it has been constantly upgraded to keep pace with the latest trends. La Marina Centro Comercial is a modern indoor shopping, leisure and entertainment centre on the Costa Blanca. Arguably the best place to shop in Benidorm, it consists of 4 floors: a basement offering free parking, 2 floors for shopping, and an outdoor rooftop complex dedicated to leisure, gastronomy and childcare and entertainment.

Their extensive array of amenities includes something for all family members: designer shops and brand stores, luxury shopping boutiques, clothing shops, department stores, a food court, a rooftop leisure complex containing 9 cinemas, a bowling alley, and a large area filled with fun attractions for children. There are bouncy castles, kiddie karts, a princess’ castle, and even a mini-golf course.

IMF Cines is the cinema at La Marina Centro Comercial, with its other branches being at Ondara and Torrevieja. The cinema in La Marina consists of 9 rooms, featuring the latest movies and blockbusters—both international and local. Tickets can be bought online through their website, which also shows the complete list of films showing, their synopses, as well as their respective rooms and schedules.

How to Get to La Marina from Benidorm

La Marina Centro Comercial is located in lower Finestrat and close to the AP-7 highway. The distance from the shopping and leisure centre to the city is only 8.2 kilometres and can be reached in less than 15 minutes via car. The following are ways of getting to La Marina from Benidorm:

  • VIA CAR: The easiest is to take the N-332 highway, the CV-753 exit. Refer to this map. La Marina offers free undercover parking spaces.
  • TAXI: The fare costs around €12 – €15.
  • BUS: 2 bus lines are running regularly between La Marina and Benidorm. There are various stops before making a round trip back to their point of origin.

El Corte Inglés

A Spanish department store, El Corte Inglés is the largest department store group in Europe and the third-largest worldwide. It occupies an expansive space in La Marina Centro Comercial and offers everything from clothing, bags, shoes and accessories, sports goods, home furnishing and décor, and International brands such as Nike, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.

Carrefour Benidorm Finestrat Shopping Center

Situated near to La Marina Centro Commercial, Carrefour is, in fact, a shopping centre. There is the Carrefour hypermarket plus various stores, restaurants and cafés. Service shops in the hypermarket include a car wash, dry cleaners, travel agencies, ATMs, a lottery booth, charging stations, and a petrol station. Carrefour also has a children’s play area, and offer free WiFi. The hypermarket offers an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen meat, packed foods and local delicacies, among many others.

There is a taxi stand outside and plenty of parking spaces for its patrons.

Centro Comercial El Centro

One of the very first commercial centres in the city of Benidorm, El Centro features a spacious outdoor plaza with a giant water mill structure. There are a variety of shops offering beauty and wellness services, including the Madero Therapy centre (specializing in the removal of cellulite) a yoga centre, a gym offering personal training, and even an aesthetics clinic.

El Centro also features restaurants and cafés, with outdoor seating in the spacious plaza. El Centro offers a quiet and peaceful atmosphere and clean environment. It is also known for being a transportation hub, where you can book trips to travel out of town and local buses stop at regular intervals.

You Forgot Me

Located at the Hotel Marina in Benidorm, You Forgot Me is a shopping store and travel booking service. The shop, situated in the main reception area of the hotel, offers UK products (biscuits, coffee, tea, and British newspapers) reading glasses, toiletries, cosmetics, travel accessories, etc.

MARKETS IN BENIDORM

Benidorm Outdoor Market

A large, open-air market situated behind the Hotel Pueblo, the Benidorm Outdoor Market has about 200 stalls, selling all kinds of goods from fresh meat, fruits and vegetables, to packed delicacies, apparel, souvenir items, home furniture and décor, and quality Spanish leather pieces.

It gets busy in the mornings as many look for their fresh goods purchases. This is a fun and unique place to observe Spanish culture, and the quality of fresh goods is excellent, and at fair prices. Much recommended.

Benidorm Municipal Market

Slightly smaller than the Benidorm Outdoor Market, the Municipal Market opens only once a week but is well frequented by locals and small business owners. The market is divided into two areas: one selling apparel, accessories, second-hand items and souvenirs, and the other featuring stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables and cured meats. Shoppers can find genuine Spanish leather bags, shoes and accessories here, all locally produced.

There are a few pop-up bars in the market, as well as food stalls offering various delicacies such as churros and light snacks. Benidorm Municipal Market is truly a traditional Spanish market and is a fantastic place to find delicious food and also to enjoy clothes shopping at great prices.

Mercaloix Indoor Market features a wide selection of goods and services including fresh fruit and vegetables, cured meat, packed Spanish delicacies, second-hand items, clothes, bargain jewellery, and accessories. There are money exchange booths, a beauty salon and a spa centre. Its sandwich and pastry shops are very popular with locals and tourists alike, and many stop by just for a strawberry tart or churro.

SUPERMARKETS IN BENIDORM

Mercadona

Mercadona is a large supermarket well-stocked with a wide array of fresh seafood, frozen and fresh meats, fruits, vegetables, beverages, local delicacies, and packed food, toiletries, skincare products, perfumes and household items and supplies. Many of the staff speak both Spanish and English.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and many speak English.

THE NEW SHOPPING CENTRE IN BENIDORM

A new shopping and commercial centre is being constructed in Benidorm, and is projected to be completed in 2020. The 58,000 square meters commercial centre is located in Vial Discotecas Benidorm, on an industrial estate situated between the AP-7 and N-332 highways.

Benidorm’s new shopping and commercial centre is specifically designed to be sustainable and environment-friendly. There will be bicycle lanes and parking spaces, as well as stations reserved for the charging of electric vehicles. Thirty per cent of the entire area will be planted with native vegetation, and commercial centre the will consume 60% less water than other commercial spaces of its size.

The new shopping centre will offer 3,000 parking spaces, 120 shops, more than 20 restaurants, a hypermarket, and a large leisure facility that will feature 8 movie theatres. The centre is designed as a terraced space with panoramic views overlooking Benidorm and the Mediterranean.
