In hardly any other industry candidates are more contested than in the tech industry. Tech Recruiting is incredibly dynamic, fast-paced and very diversified. There are many different positions that are constantly changing due to new technologies and developments. As recruiters, we are as well always invited to keep up to date of the latest developments.
I was particularly impressed by three points regarding the recruitment of techies:
1. Conversations with Techies are special in many different faces. I like the open communication in conversations and the space to talk openly about wishes. In the end it’s not only "a" job. Rather, it’s about the working in a great environment, the colleagues and also the goals of the company are extremely important in order to be able to make a decision in the end. Typical interview questions are out of place here.
2. Listen, and you feel the passion. It's great to see how much passion engineers put into their own code and applications. When they tell about for which solution they aimed for and what advantages the user has in the end, you can really feel the passion. For me this is a great experience, which also gives me a bigger view of the whole thing.
3. React, what? CI/CD pipeline and Docker? Tech recruiting inspires me to learn new things about applications and technologies every day. Of course, only in a abstract form, but in the end it’s exciting to see bunches of code become a functioning user interface.
