What you should know about this villa

Amenities and special features of this villa

This wonderful property is an authentic oasis of peace and beauty, where you can live a quality life, immersed in history and nature, without having to give up comfort and security. "Villa San Michele", set like a precious gem, overlooks the summit of Monte Sant'Angelo, on the western side of the volcanic complex of Gauro, a few kilometers from Pozzuoli. Monte Sant'Angelo is a place rich in history and charm, where you can breathe the ancient devotion to San Michele, the heavenly warrior who defeated evil. Here, the Lombards, who dominated Pozzuoli in the 11th century, dedicated to Saint Michele a splendid Romanesque church, the oldest of the mountain, and a convent. Over the centuries, these buildings passed from hand to hand, until between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, on the ruins of an ancient Angevin castle used as a fortress and watchtower, another church was built in the Baroque style, along with a new convent (Today hermitage run by the Curia). Here were transferred the religious and spiritual activities that previously took place in the Romanesque church, which was gradually abandoned, deconsecrated and forgotten. Only in the 90s, thanks to the intuition and passion of the current property, the church and the adjoining convent were brought to light and restored with meticulous care and great respect, making them the beating heart of the entire estate of over 12,000 square meters of green spaces and a wooded area of about 100,000 square meters rich in paths of high historical and landscape value.
The church, which preserves intact the internal architectural lines, is connected to the three apartments built in the former convent connected to it. Each apartment has its own entrance and large panoramic terraces, as well as being equipped with every comfort. To complete the property, there is a local tavern partially basement of about 300 square meters, connected both internally to the houses and having an external driveway. In addition, a comfortable and delicious outdoor kitchen, equipped with all the comforts such as charcoal and professional wood-burning oven, allows you to enjoy the large outdoor spaces in conviviality. The property extends over an area arranged on various levels and terraces, with exclusive and varied panoramic views of the Gulf of Pozzuoli (Baia, Bacoli, Arco Felice), as well as several lakes (D'Averno, Fusaro, Lucrino, Miseno) and of course the islands of Ischia, Procida and Capri, sweeping on the opposite side to the coast of Gaeta. Overall, the property with its 1000 square meters covers only a small part of the estate that, in its largest size, has green spaces, fruit trees, vegetable garden and vines that run along the coast of the mountain until you look out on Monte Corvara, in whose mouth is located the US NAVY Carney Park. This property is ideal for those looking for a quiet and charming place, but at the same time not far from the sea and the city. Silence and peace are guaranteed by the isolated and privileged position, away from traffic and city chaos. Here you can live in harmony with nature, history and spirituality, in a magical and relaxing atmosphere. The property is ideal for those looking for a prestigious and charming residence, both for those who want to invest in a receptive or cultural activity, able to offer to its guests an unique and unforgettable experience.

Pozzuoli: Location and surroundings of this property

This beautiful property, known as "Villa San Michele" is located on Mount Sant'Angelo, a few kilometers from Pozzuoli, a town west of Naples, part of the much larger Phlegraean area, which is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating and evocative of Campania and it offers a unique experience to those who visit it. Here you can admire the power of nature, which has shaped the territory with its volcanic activity, creating lakes, hills, islands and geothermal phenomena. But the Phlegraean area is also a living testimony of the history and culture of ancient and modern peoples, who left indelible traces in the landscape and traditions. Among the most important attractions there are the archaeological sites of Greek and Roman times, which tell the daily life and beliefs of these civilizations, such as the Flavian Amphitheater, the Temple of Serapis, the Necropolis of Cuma and the Terme di Baia. But there are also medieval and Renaissance monuments, such as the Aragonese Castle of Baia and the Castle of Cuma. The Phlegraean area is also a paradise for nature and sea lovers, who can enjoy breathtaking views, beaches, caves and natural parks. Among the natural wonders there are the volcanic lakes, such as Averno, Lucrino, Fusaro and Miseno that offer evocative and changing scenery. And then there are the phlegraean islands of Ischia, Procida and Vivara, which are pearls in the Gulf of Naples, with their crystal clear waters, their spas, their villages and their gastronomic specialties.
The Phlegraean area is therefore a must for those who want to live in the name of beauty, culture and relaxation. An area well connected to the city of Naples and, therefore, easily accessible by various means of transport, such as car, train, metro, the Cumana railway or ferry. An area waiting for you to discover its hidden treasures.
