Oggiona Santo Stefano: Location and surroundings of this property

Oggiona con Santo Stefano (Ugiòna cun Sastéven in Varesotto dialect) is an Italian municipality of approximately 4,300 inhabitants in the province of Varese, Lombardy. The earliest traces of human presence in Oggiona con Santo Stefano date back to the Bronze Age, as evidenced by the blade of a dagger preserved at the Gallarate museum. From the Roman and late Roman periods, there is a bronze coin and a 'cappuccina' tomb, the latter preserved at the Town Hall. Oggiona con Santo Stefano was traversed by a ridge route along the left bank of the Arno River. The remains of a medieval tower used for road control, incorporated into the rear structure of the church of Santa Maria Annunciata al Castello, testify to the importance of Oggiona before the year 1000.
The municipality is divided between the two centers of Oggiona and Santo Stefano Arno, located on the right and left banks of the Riale stream, a tributary of the Arnetta. The Santo Stefano fraction is divided into four districts: Borani, Ruarit, Cantone, and Bisciuina; the Oggiona fraction is divided into two districts: Castellani and Campo Grande.
Oggiona con Santo Stefano is well-connected to Malpensa Airport and is close to highway access points.
