What you should know about this house

Amenities and special features of this house

In the beating heart of Gavi, amidst the small alleyways that guard ancient secrets, stands a 17th-century palace, the frescoes on its façade veiled by time. On the second floor of this noble residence hides a precious jewel, a flat, which was elegantly furnished with the wisdom of one who respects history and enhances its timeless elegance. Immersed in an atmosphere of great taste, the flat offers itself to the visitor with a discreet personality and a refinement that evokes Provençal charm. Bright and cosy, it enchants with its stylish details, a perfect balance between past and present. Crossing the threshold, one enters directly into the large living room where the eye is enraptured by the original floors, the noble frescoes adorning the ceiling and the elegant fireplace that serves as the centrepiece. Direct access to the panoramic terrace, which overlooks the roofs of the neighbouring buildings, gives an extraordinary brightness to the entire room. The dining room, with its shabby chic furnishings, evokes the magic of elegant invitations, candlelit dinners and pleasant conversations in the company of family and friends. The spacious kitchen, which plays on a perfect colour balance, impresses with its refined and somewhat retro style, which can be seen in every single detail. The living room also leads to a double room, which can also be used as a study. Here the window offers a spectacular view of the famous Fortress of Gavi, which you can almost touch. The sleeping area, with its double room and bathroom with shower, guarantees privacy and great relaxation. But there is still a surprise: a secret is hidden on the mezzanine floor, where a period staircase leads to a small frontistirion with a large fireplace, where one can relax and read a book or work from home. From here one can reach the non-habitable attic, which is as large as the whole flat and is in excellent condition, so that every corner can be exploited. Last but not irrelevant detail: the access staircase to the flat, which runs from the ground floor with a gate guaranteeing its exclusivity, is private, making it totally independent of the two condominium neighbours on the ground floor. As for the parking space, there is the possibility of renting or purchasing one in the building's courtyard. History, elegance, brightness, all services at hand, for a charming residence ready to live in.

GAVI: Location and surroundings of this property

Gavi is a small town of about 5,000 inhabitants that lies at the foot of the Ligurian Apennines in the province of Alessandria, at the confluence of the Neirone stream with the Lemme river. It is surrounded by hills that have been cultivated with vines since the 15th century, in particular Cortese grapes that only here and in a few other places in the surroundings can become the highly prized Cortese di Gavi DOCG, a sought-after white wine in a region devoted to 'reds'. By now, a good glass of Gavi can be enjoyed practically anywhere in the world. But only in this narrow portion of Piedmontese territory on the border with Liguria can you visit the cellars that produce it and taste the dishes to which it has been paired for centuries. Gavi, however, is not only famous for its wine and good food, being also a place rich in history and cultural attractions. The town, in fact, was for centuries a stronghold on the Via del Sale controlled by the Republic of Genoa, which gave it a distinctly Ligurian imprint in its town planning, fortifications and, above all, in the customs and habits of its inhabitants. The town's landmark monument is the famous Forte di Gavi, a fortress perched on the high hill overlooking the village and a remarkable example of military architecture. It was built by the Genoese between the 16th and 17th centuries and is the most important defensive outpost in Basso Piemonte. It is shaped like a six-pointed star and was built on a pre-existing medieval castle. The latter had hosted, just to underline the importance of the place even in the Middle Ages, Emperor Frederick Barbarossa fleeing after defeat in the Battle of Legnano in 1176. Nowadays, it can be visited and hosts numerous initiatives, both cultural and for the promotion of the territory. Gavi is also ideal for a nature holiday, given its proximity to the Apennines. The paths and trails that branch out in its territory are many and all suggestive. They all allow you to delve into the varied flora of this part of Piedmont and discover its most spectacular aspects. For golf enthusiasts, there are two prestigious opportunities just a few kilometres away: the Golf Club Colline del Gavi, in Tassarolo, with its 27 holes, and the Golf Club Villa Carolina, in Capriata d'Orba, with its 18 holes. And as far as shopping is concerned, in Serravalle Scrivia, just 7 km away, is the famous Serravalle Designer Outlet, one of the largest in Europe. From a travel point of view, Gavi has a strategic location. Located a few kilometres from Novi Ligure, it is about 40 km from Alessandria, 60 km from Genoa and 140 km from Turin.
