What you should know about this villa

Amenities and special features of this villa

In the town of Besano, immersed in the green Valceresio and overlooking a branch of Lake Lugano, we offer for sale this delightful villa, originally built in 1880, has undergone an important renovation in the period between 1989 and 2000, preserving its historical charm and integrating modern comforts. Located in a privileged area, the residence boasts two driveways leading to a well-kept driveway, surrounded by a large garden planted with a variety of trees and flowers. The garden, carefully maintained, is enriched by various accessories, among which stands out an elegant canopy for car parking, which adds a touch of practicality without compromising the aesthetics of the place. The residence is spread over two floors, each of which retains the historical features that make the villa unique. The original architectural structure has been respected during the renovation and the facade, carefully restored, retains its original appearance, while the interior reflects a balance between classic style and modern comforts. The main entrance, on the ground floor, leads to two lounges that define the elegance of the residence. The first room, with a charming vaulted ceiling, becomes the heart of the residence and two elegant fireplaces add warmth and character to the setting. This room not only lends itself to the functions of the main living room but also presents the predispositions for the creation of an additional kitchen, showing an architectural versatility. A nice bathroom, serving this wing of the villa, offers practicality and comfort. The second living room, also equipped with a fireplace, extends into a dining room and kitchen, creating an integrated space perfect for entertainment. A large bathroom, with shower, contributes to the functionality of this area. The first floor, accessible by an elegant staircase, is dedicated to the sleeping area and the pine and chestnut beams give a rustic warmth and a welcoming atmosphere. The master bedroom, very spacious and served by an en suite bathroom, has direct access to a spacious terrace with panoramic views of the Colle San Martino. This room is further enriched by a room adaptable to a walk-in closet or study, offering a personalized ambience. The second bedroom, equally airy, has an en suite bathroom and has a practical area that can be used as a walk-in closet or study, ensuring total comfort. Finally, the villa is completed by a charming historic cellar on the basement floor, adding a touch of authenticity and history to the residential complex. The property, with its history and its careful renovation, presents itself as a residence that combines historical style and modernity in a harmonious fusion of comfort and elegance.

Besano: Location and surroundings of this property

The Municipality of Besano is a very quiet inhabited and residential center near the coast of Lake Ceresio or Lake Lugano. The etymological origin of the name is not clear, some people derive the name from the fact that in ancient times in the locality a renowned fair was held twice a year therefore the village would have been called “Bis-in-anno”, while some historians derive it from the Celtic-Ligurian root “Bes” with the sense of wooded height. A walk from the town centre, without any particular difficulty, allows you to reach the Colle di San Martino overlooking the village from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the whole Valceresio, Lake Ceresio and the Prealps of Varesotte and Switzerland. The municipality offers public services such as, gym and municipal library, primary and secondary school. The train station of Porto Ceresio, 5 minutes away from the center of Besano, connects the capital of the Province, Varese, with a journey of 20 minutes and the capital of the Region, Milan with a journey of 1 hour and 13 minutes. The Swiss border, the customs of Porto Ceresio, is only 4 km away while the customs of Lavena Ponte Tresa is 12 km away. The centre of the provincial capital, Varese, and the motorway to Milan are 12 km away. The coast of Lake Maggiore is easily reachable in 25 km. Malpensa International Airport is 55 km away but it is also easily reachable by train from Porto Ceresio Train Station.
