The municipal term of Boadilla del Monte is a district within the Metropolitan Area of Madrid, located to the west of the capital, 15 km away. It has a population of 18,450 inhabitants and covers 47.2 km², bordering the municipalities of Majadahonda, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Alcorcón, Villaviciosa de Odón, and Villanueva de la Cañada. It entirely belongs to the Guadarrama river basin. This municipality experienced a significant population increase in the mid-seventies with the establishment of a large number of single-family residences in developments. In the coming years, it will experience another significant population increase due to the release of large land areas that are currently being developed.
