Puerto Alcúdia belongs to the municipality of Alcúdia and is located 45 minutes by car from the island's capital, Palma de Mallorca. This northern locality with almost 5,000 inhabitants has a marina, Alcudiamar, and a commercial port with ferry connections to Barcelona, Valencia, Menorca, and France (Toulon). Puerto Alcúdia is especially notable for its 7 km of white sandy beach called Playa de Alcúdia (Catalan Platja d’Alcúdia), featuring a promenade and access adapted for people with disabilities, and it connects with Playa de Muro. In Puerto Alcúdia, there is also a water park, the only one in the north of the island - Hidropark. A growing area next to Puerto Alcúdia overlooking the bay of Alcúdia is undoubtedly Alcanada (Cat. Aucanada). Here we find the famous golf course: Club de Golf Alcanada, where important tournaments are regularly held. Alcúdia town, with its attractive historic center, is just a 10/15 minute walk from the port. Weekly markets are held on Tuesdays and Sundays. Near the area of Puerto Alcúdia, there is a private hospital, Juaneda Muro, and a bit further towards Pollensa, the international school My School. Another attractive site in Puerto Alcúdia is S’Albufera Park – the largest wetland area in the Balearic Islands, ideal for lovers of the islands' flora and fauna.
