Playa de Palma is one of the most famous and longest beaches in Mallorca and stretches for around six kilometers of fine, white sand on the south coast of the island, nestled in the wide bay of Palma. It stretches from Can Pastilla in the west to S'Arenal in the east and is very well connected due to its proximity to the capital Palma and the airport. A wide promenade lined with palm trees runs along the beach, which is ideal for walking, cycling and strolling. Playa de Palma is famous for its 15 numbered beach kiosks, the "balnearios", which serve as landmarks. The area offers a comprehensive tourist infrastructure with countless hotels, restaurants, bars and stores as well as a wide range of water sports and leisure activities. Despite its reputation as a party zone, there are also quieter sections here, which are very popular with families due to the shallow, clear water.
