The picturesque village of Galilea slumbers in the sunshine under the mythical Galatzó Mountain, part of the UNESCO Sierra de Tramuntana world heritage site, at an altitude of 460 metres and belongs to the municipality of Puigpunyent. The views and tranquillity are impressive features of this tiny, sleepy village. Offering the basic necessities, it is the perfect place to relax in the sunshine or eat tapas on the village square while taking in the mountain and distant sea views.
The traditional houses are all constructed around the Immaculada Concepció church, which was built in 1810. Frequented by just a few tourists, Galilea is a privileged spot away from the stress of modern life, with a spectacular view over the Calvià coast, fresh mountain air and peaceful streets. The mountain roads can be a challenge during winter months which means that properties in Galilea are a little more affordable than in other villages nearby. The beaches around Calviá can be reached in 30 minutes, Palma and the airport are 20 km away.
