The location is very good; although A Estrada belongs to the province of Pontevedra, this town is very close to Santiago de Compostela, about 26 km away, a journey that takes barely 18 minutes. In just a few months the trip will take only 10 minutes once the connection between the AP-9 and the AG-59 Expressway is completed. This beautiful Galician town boasts great cultural, natural, gastronomic and scenic wealth. Not in vain, a large part of its territory belongs to the Natura 2000 Network. A Estrada is well known for the Rapa das Bestas, a tradition with more than 400 years of history that has been declared of International Tourist Interest. The first stop in A Estrada should be the Pazo de Oca, known as the Galician Versailles. This 15th-century fortress has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site and stands out for its wonderful gardens with a striking pond. The Pazo de Oca is included in the Camellia Route, as it has some of the oldest camellias in Europe. The nearest airport is Santiago de Compostela Airport
