Located on the border between Fuengirola and Las Lagunas, which is part of the municipality of Mijas. However, this location is practically part of the outskirts of the city of Fuengirola, thereby making this urbanization something like a half-urban resort. The particularity of the municipality of Mijas is that it is divided into two: Mijas Pueblo and Mijas Costa. Halfway between Malaga and Marbella (30 kilometers), this municipality of the Costa del Sol Occidental is the third in the province of Malaga in number of inhabitants. Mijas Pueblo is located on the hillside of the Sierra de Mijas, and has the historic center of the municipality -considered as one of the most beautiful in Andalusia-. On the other hand, Mijas Costa has three locations: Las Lagunas, Calahonda and La Cala. Las Lagunas de Mijas Costa has, in turn, another peculiarity; and it is that its limits with Fuengirola are so imprecise that it is practically impossible to draw an imaginary border. In fact, it is not strange to see streets whose road separates one municipality from another. Without a doubt it is the area with the best commercial offer of the Costa del Sol (Shopping Center Miramar, El Corte Inglés, Miramar Commercial Park), with new and fantastic recreational areas (Periurban Park) and fast access to the A7 and AP7 highways. The beach, the proximity to the mountain, the golf courses and the gastronomic offer are strong points of the area. Only 17 min from the airport and close to the local train station that takes you to the airport and Málaga city, every 20 min.
