The municipality comprises Jimena, Estación de Jimena, and San Pablo de Buceite. Its municipal territory, located between the Bay of Algeciras and the Serranía de Ronda, preserves one of the most important Mediterranean forest landscapes in southern Europe, the Los Alcornocales Natural Park. The municipal territory of Jimena is the northernmost part of the Campo de Gibraltar, connected to the Sotogrande area and the Guadiaro Valley by the Guadarranque River and the Guadiaro River, one of the most important in southern Andalusia. Let's not forget the Hozgarganta River, which, along with numerous minor tributaries of the mentioned rivers, bathes this splendid area of valleys and hills. Jimena, an ancient city of Moors and Christians, is crowned by the 8th-century Arab Castle.
