Almassora is a municipality of the Valencian Community located in the southeast of the province of Castellón. Of Arab origin, it has a varied list of medieval monuments, both religious and civil. It is located on the banks of the Mijares River, a few kilometers from its mouth, on a flat terrain with slight undulations. Its main activity is ceramics and the cultivation of citrus fruits. The municipality of Almassora borders the towns of Castellón de la Plana and its maritime district Grao de Castellón, Villarreal, Onda and Burriana and its beach El Arenal, all of them in the province of Castellón. Almassora has an extensive beach with a mixture of fine sand and pebbles. Flanked by a long promenade, it has a good number of services, including a summer library.
