Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas is, today, the main urban thoroughfare in northwest Valencia and one of the most emblematic in the entire city. Close to the Ronda Norte ring road and the CV-35 (Ademuz Highway), it has become the principal access to Valencia from the northwest. To get around the rest of the city, from here we can choose to travel quickly by private transport via major roads such as Pío XII or General Avilés, or take advantage of the convenient public transport infrastructure which, by bus or metro, allows us to reach the historic center in 15 minutes. Thanks to its modern design (urban development began in the 1990s as a link between the Campanar and Benicalap districts) and the large number of landmark buildings in the area—such as the Casino Cirsa Valencia, Valencia C.F.’s new stadium “Nou Mestalla,” or the Congress Palace (the latter two designed by the renowned architect Norman Foster)—“Cortes Valencianas” has become the heart of an area that is now a benchmark for Valencia’s avant-garde architecture. The presence of educational and healthcare centers, together with sports, leisure, dining, and other services, rounds out an offering that explains why this is one of Valencia’s fastest-growing residential, commercial, and business areas; hence it is also known as the city’s “financial district.”
