Malaga's Soho, also known as the Arts District, is a central and dynamic neighbourhood located in Ensanche Heredia, within the city's Central District.
In recent years, this neighbourhood has undergone a profound transformation, going from being a run-down area to becoming a cultural and creative hub. This change has been made possible thanks to various urban regeneration projects promoted by both local associations and Malaga City Council.
Soho stands out for its strong cultural and artistic identity. It is home to important facilities such as the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) and the Soho Theatre, and is a regular venue for cultural activities, alternative markets such as Made in Soho, as well as galleries, workshops, cafés and restaurants offering a varied and original selection.
Its strategic location makes it a link between the historic centre, the Port of Malaga —especially the Muelle Uno area— and green spaces such as Malaga Park. The neighbourhood also has excellent pedestrian connectivity, being just a few minutes away from Plaza de la Marina, Calle Larios and the historic centre.
Furthermore, Soho is easily accessible by public transport, with several city bus lines and commuter train stations close to the city centre and Alameda Principal, facilitating mobility both within the city and to other areas of Malaga.
