A tourist destination since ancient times, Capri is rich in architectural traces left by the figures who chose it as their permanent residence. From the Roman Villa Jovis, through the late-medieval Certosa, to the noble residences of the last two centuries: Villa Lysis and the villas of writers, such as Munthe’s panoramic villa and Malaparte’s ingenious home. The road built by Krupp is the best known of the scenic routes winding along the coastline.
