Stately Residence with enchanting views of Lake Trasimeno

Monte del Lago, a charming village in the municipality of Magione, is perched on the eastern shore of Lake Trasimeno and offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the entire lake.

The village unfolds like a natural terrace overlooking the water, and its medieval walls face the lake directly, providing an unobstructed view. Despite its old-world atmosphere and seclusion, the village enjoys excellent access to Umbria’s strategic road network. Just a few minutes’ drive away are the Torricella and Magione exits of the Bettolle-Perugia Highway Link; this highway allows you to reach the Valdichiana exit of the Autostrada del Sole (A1) in about 25 minutes heading north, or to merge onto the E45 Expressway (SS3bis) at Perugia, easily connecting the village with Città di Castello, Foligno, Todi, and Terni. Local roads are served by Provincial Road 316, which connects the various towns around the lake.

As for essential services, the lack of large retail stores in the small historic center is offset by the proximity to neighboring villages. The nearest municipal pharmacy is located in San Feliciano, about 4 kilometers away, where you’ll also find the first village grocery stores. For a more comprehensive shopping experience, the town of Magione is just 7–8 kilometers away (less than a ten-minute drive), where you’ll find the Pesciarelli Shopping Center, featuring a large hypermarket, various discount stores, and specialty shops.

The “San Francesco d’Assisi” Umbria International Airport is the nearest major airport, reachable in about 30 minutes by car (35 km), mostly via the highway. For the most frequent international and European flights, Florence-Peretola Airport is about 135 kilometers away, which translates to an hour-and-a-half drive. For intercontinental routes and major global hubs, the airports in Rome (Fiumicino and Ciampino) are between 190 and 215 kilometers away, reachable in just over two hours by car via the A1 highway heading south.
