The largest and busiest of the Egadi archipelago, Favignana is only 9 miles from Trapani. The island offers both beaches and caves: from the fine sandy beaches of Cala Azzurra, Lido Burrone and Calamoni to the pebble coves of Punta Lunga, Punta Sottile and Faraglioni. The rockier areas, on the other hand, include Cala Rossa, Grotta Perciata and Punta Fanfalo. Favignana was also home to one of Sicily's most important tuna fisheries, now a museum, the so-called ex-Stabilimento Florio.
