Comfortable two-room in green Viggiù

Viggiù is a municipality in the Northeast of the province of Varese, more precisely in Valceresio, at the foot of Monte Orsa, with about 5,300 inhabitants. Its history dates back to ancient times, as evidenced by Roman-era artifacts. Viggiù boasts numerous treasures. Among them is the historic center, unique in its kind, characterized by typical courtyard houses with entrances adorned with artistic stone portals, where stonemasons' workshops were located. The famous "Pietra di Viggiù" was one of the many stones extracted from the surrounding hills; it was used as building and decorative material and in the past, this made the area a place of great artistic importance. This feature made Viggiù known as the town of "Picasass," because in the past, walking through the streets, one could hear only the tinkling of hammers striking the stone. There are also numerous churches enriched with works by local artists. In the heart of the town, in a charming green setting, we find Villa Borromeo, an elegant late neoclassical building, an ideal destination for daily excursions.
