Castiglione Falletto is one of the villages of the “Barolo Langa”, i.e., one of the areas recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. Entering the town of Castiglione Falletto via Via Roma, you reach Piazza del Centro, formerly called “della Balada”, as it hosted the dancing during village festivals. A short climb leads beneath the imposing fortress. A few meters from the square, in a strategic position, the property welcomes its guests. The Castle of Castiglione Falletto, now owned by the Bricco Boschis Winery of the Cavallotto family, was built by Bertoldo Falletti of Alba, who had received the place as a fief from the Marquesses of Saluzzo. The Falletti, who owned it until around the end of the 17th century, wished to add their name to that of the village. Returning to Piazza del Centro and taking the ancient Via del Fossato, you complete the full circuit of the historic core of Castiglione Falletto, looking out over the slopes of the surrounding hills.
