Climate-neutral A4 Eco-Shelter

This climate-neutral Eco-Shelter, built in 2022, is more up-to-date than ever due to its highest energy class A4. A special feature is its location on a hilltop in Gualdo Cattaneo with 360° panoramic views of the surrounding hills and plains. The position is east - west facing so the Shelter can take advantage of the sun all day. The foreign architect took a visionary approach in designing the single-level, all-wood house, which also guarantees access for people with disabilities. Inside, mainly light ecological wood was used while on the outside a durable thermoset wood finish was used. The total area is approximately 130 sq m, with every square centimetre being used to the maximum and in a meticulous manner. The fully equipped wooden open kitchen features a kitchen island (equipped with all electrics). Noteworthy is the kitchen tap that delivers sparkling water in addition to cold and hot water. There is also a cosy living area with endless views of the countryside. The large windows fitted with automatic screens give access to the outdoor terrace of about 45 sqm. There is also a covered courtyard of about 14 sqm with next to it the swimming pool of 10 x 4 m and a depth of 1.5 m. Furthermore, the shelter consists of 3 bedrooms for 2 persons each with en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. The concept even allows 10 people to sleep without losing any space. Under the large skylight there is a multifunctional space that can be reached via a wall staircase. The flooring consists of parquet. All rooms were fitted with made-to-measure furniture to make optimal use of the space. The approx. 3200 sqm garden has yet to be laid out, which in turn offers the necessary advantages to fully adapt the environment to one's own wishes, especially in terms of landscaping. The Eco-shelter is equipped with photovoltaic panels to generate electricity. An accumulation battery can be added if required. Heating is via the split air conditioning units located in the house. Cosily warm in winter, invigoratingly cool in summer. A technical room is provided on the outside. The property is connected to the water and electricity grid and has a latest-generation wastewater treatment plant. Next to the Eco-shelter is an additional unit, which still needs to be finished with durable thermoset wood finish on the outside, and on which the photovoltaic panels are located. The window and door openings are already provided, the finishing inside depends on the new owner's personal taste.
