The building entrance is embellished by a pointed-arch portal, decorated with a finely worked sandstone archivolt, giving the palace its distinctive appearance.

Major structural works are currently underway, including seismic improvement, upgrading of the load-bearing walls, consolidation of the existing floor slabs, construction of new floor slabs and a timber roof, as well as energy-efficiency improvements (energy class A/B).

Acoustic insulation, chemical damp-proof barriers and moisture treatments are also planned, together with external and internal bio-lime plaster, Venetian-style paving for the portico, terracotta strip paving for the inner courtyard, and marble flooring in the entrance hall, stairwell and landings.

The window frames will be made of highly insulating wood.
