This charming and extremely bright attic apartment, with a spectacular rooftop terrace, is located in Cannaregio, near the Malibran Theatre and Campo San Giovanni Grisostomo, more precisely in a secluded courtyard steeped in Gothic architecture and Venetian aristocratic history, where peace and quiet prevail. The area is also famous thanks to the renowned Venetian writer, traveler and merchant Marco Polo, who is said to have lived in this part of Venice; according to legend, the writer also owned an apartment in the palazzo of our property.
To reach the apartment, you go up an ancient marble staircase and, upon arriving on the third floor, you cross the threshold: as soon as you enter, you discover a spacious and very distinctive setting, unique in Venice. The attic is enhanced by exposed beams and a high ceiling of at least three meters, which then slopes down at the sides yet still makes the space highly usable in height and size over almost its entire surface. The generous area includes a comfortable living space with sofa and armchairs, which can be used as a place to listen to music, spend time with friends, or relax.
After the living area, you continue to the current dining area, where several people can sit comfortably at the table for family lunches and dinners.
In another area, going down a few steps, the kitchenette has been created, and there is another table for quicker meals or morning breakfasts.
Going back up, you find a bedroom with original Venetian terrazzo flooring, a space that immerses you in the atmosphere of historic Venetian palaces, a quiet place perfectly suited for rest.
Everything is completed by a bathroom and another space to be used as a study or as desired depending on needs.
The distinguishing feature of this extraordinary apartment is the rooftop terrace, accessible via a convenient wooden staircase, from which we enjoy an exceptional view over Venetian roofs, churches and bell towers. The breathtaking panorama, the beauty and harmony of the rooms set within precious Venice, make this property unique and suitable as a primary residence or second home.
The Cannaregio sestiere is Venice’s second-largest district after Castello and the most populous. This district is home to the Venice Ghetto, reachable on foot by crossing the Ponte delle Guglie and walking along Strada Nova, the main thoroughfare that runs from Santa Lucia Station to Rialto. This route of about 25 minutes starts at the foot of the Ponte degli Scalzi and the church of Santa Maria degli Scalzi and ends in Campo dei Santi Apostoli.
The apartment enjoys an excellent location, convenient both to the Church of the Santi Apostoli and the Miracoli area, as well as the renowned Malibran Theatre, and allows you to reach the city’s most important and famous places within a few minutes.
