Taião is located 10 minutes from Valença, 50 minutes from Braga, 90 minutes from Porto and 15 minutes from the Border with Spain, allowing several tourist and gastronomic alternatives within short distances. The former parish of Taião is located on a mountain plateau, about 10 kilometers from the town of Valença, the county seat to which belongs. It extends for approximately 8.68 km2 of area, distributed by the places of: Felgueira, Mó, Virialho, Taião de Cima and Taião de Baixo. Given its location, in Taião “it is always sunny”, as the inhabitants of this parish say, being a source of pride for these people. You can, therefore, visit the Relógio de Sol, in Taião de Cima, and another example, in Taião de Baixo.
