Aroeira is a town on the south bank of the Tagus River, more precisely in the parish of Charneca de Caparica, Municipality of Almada and District of Setúbal. The famous Herdade da Aroeira is located there and there are also numerous other villa-type buildings, used both as first and second homes. Inserted in a vast pine forest, Pinhal da Aroeira, in the surroundings of this town, to the west, are the beaches of Fonte da Telha, the beaches of Costa de Caparica and the Mata Nacional dos Medos.
