Location: Campolide, Lisbon

Campolide was once a good farming land, where there were several farms. On the entire hillside, there were olive groves, orchards, and vineyards. Nowadays, these hillsides "hide" a calm and safe neighborhood, with houses mostly from the 70s. Almost the entire neighborhood consists of buildings, but there is a very interesting area (the Calçada dos Mestres neighborhood) with a view of the Águas Livres Aqueduct, where we find semi-detached houses with gardens. Here live young people, the elderly, and families. There is the movement of those who leave in the morning and return at night, but also of those who live here during the day: for a trip to the local grocery store, or even to Amoreiras for other types of shopping. Most of the commerce is concentrated in this center, which was once the largest in the city. Despite being a calm neighborhood, it is here that all the traffic coming from the Center passes and moves either south or to the Cascais line (and vice versa in the morning). And those who take this route will encounter the Águas Livres Aqueduct, an emblematic and grandiose work of 18th-century Lisbon, a complex system of water collection and distribution for the city. A must-visit for those who are not familiar with it.
