Ebmatingen, together with the localities of Maur, Binz, Aesch-Forch and Uessikon and the hamlets of Neugut, Wannwis and Stuelen, forms the political municipality of Maur in the Uster District of the Canton of Zurich. With an attractive tax rate of 81%, the municipality is one of the most sought-after areas in the Uster District.
Ebmatingen is the municipality’s second-largest locality, with around 2,800 inhabitants. Like Aesch and Binz, it is situated on a terrace on the slope of the Pfannenstiel range.
The surrounding area is characterised by a variety of forests, meadows and local recreation areas. Popular destinations include Lake Greifen, with the Maur boat station, and the public bathing facilities in Maur and Egg.
Ebmatingen offers all the advantages of a modern suburban municipality. The village centre, with various shopping facilities (Migros/Coop), can be reached conveniently within a short time on foot, by car or by bicycle. The kindergarten and primary school are only a few minutes’ walk from the property. The proximity to the International School is another clear advantage. Zurich-Klusplatz can be reached by car or bus in less than 20 or 25 minutes respectively, and Zurich Airport is around 20 minutes away by car.
