Fuente del Berro is one of the six neighborhoods comprising the Salamanca district of Madrid.
The neighborhood is home to Colonia Fuente del Berro, a group of small detached and semi-detached houses built in the early 20th century for the middle class; Colonia Iturbe 1 and Colonia Iturbe 2, now inhabited by numerous figures from politics and the arts and often compared with London’s Notting Hill for their exclusive, bohemian character.
It is also home to Quinta de la Fuente del Berro Park, located in the eastern part of the neighborhood. The neighborhood is bounded by Calle de Alcalá to the north, Calle del Doctor Esquerdo to the west, Avenida de la Paz, or M-30, to the east, and Calle de O’Donnell to the south.
The neighborhood is served by several bus routes. Metro lines 2, 5, and 6 serve the area through the following stations: Ventas L2 and L5 / Manuel Becerra L2 and L6 / O’Donnell L6.
A wide variety of street markets, supermarkets, gyms, schools, churches, parishes, and extensive shopping options. The Fuente del Berro municipal sports center and the well-known Las Ventas Bullring are also located here. It is also a quiet, safe residential neighborhood, with landscaped areas ideal for children and older people.
