Ampfing is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of
Mühldorf am Inn and is located about ten kilometers west of the
district town of Mühldorf and around 70 kilometers east of Munich.
Its location in the Alpine foothills, combined with good transport
links via the A94 motorway and the Munich–Mühldorf–Simbach
railway line, makes the town highly attractive in terms of
transport. Ampfing railway station offers regular train services
toward Munich and Mühldorf, supplemented by a regional bus
network with a central stop near the station.
Ampfing is also well positioned in terms of infrastructure. For
families with children, there is a primary school and a lower
secondary school with all-day care.
Further secondary schools such as intermediate secondary schools
and grammar schools are located in neighboring towns, e.g., in
Mühldorf, Waldkraiburg or Haag. Vocational schools and
specialized upper secondary schools are also easily accessible.
Local supplies are ensured by several supermarkets such as EDEKA,
Lidl and Netto, as well as various bakeries, butcher shops and
smaller retail stores in the town center.

Public transport (local public transport) is supplemented by bus
routes that connect Ampfing with surrounding municipalities,
including, for example, routes 6224 and 7512. Overall, Ampfing

nature-oriented location and good connections to the Munich
metropolitan region.
