A city that combines urbanity, tradition and avant-garde, impresses as the big city pioneer in culture, development and industry of Spain, with the advantage of being in an enviable location close to the Mediterranean. The works of Gaudí, the picturesque Park Güell, La Pedrera, Casa Batlló and Barrio Gótico.. These are just some of the memorable points that are found in such places. Processions, parades and religious festivals

From Domingo de Ramos, the city is decked out in the quaint garb of religious festivities, with impressive processions of thousands of people along the streets. It is definitely worth the special occasion to see all the live cosmopolitan metropolis in motion, with a lively and fun atmosphere thanks to the good weather that already prevails. Around the Cathedral (Cathedral of Santa Eulalia, built in the 13th century), in Barrio Gótico, there is a parade with traditional palms. This event can be used to get to know Barcelona's streets, shopping in las Ramblas, Port Vell and strolling through Raval neighbourhood.

On good Friday, the impressive parade of the bearers takes place, where members of a religious order take on the responsibility of carrying the enormous statue of Virgin Macarena. It is also time for the traditional exit from the Christ of Lepanto. This is a great opportunity to get to know the neighbourhood of Raval, before leaving the Church of Sant Agustí and getting carried away by the tumult and animation of its people.

Barcelona Easter dishes

For those who are visiting this city during Easter it is essential to taste some of the local dishes such as the famous doughnuts and the classic Easter Pascua, no doubt the most characteristic recipe: a tart with chocolate figures that godparents give to their godchildren on these dates. It is usually eaten on Easter Monday, dubbed as "Dia de la Mona".

Enjoy the stunning views of the city

The immensity of this city can be appreciated in all its grandeur with unforgettable panoramic views. To do this, you can take a cable car and go up to Montjuic Castle, which is located on the mountain of the same name, a military construction that's centuries old but in very good condition. Or, if you prefer, you can opt for a more relaxed leisurly walk up the funicular to go to Tibidabo, the famous amusement park. This is no doubt an ideal location to enjoy the entire city's panoramic views. If you are planning to settle in the city, stop for a moment to contemplate it in all its greatness and numerous avenues.

In addition, following your visit to the castle of Montjuïc approaching the Olympic Stadium, visit the National Museum of art in Catalonia or Plaza España.
