Elegant black and white kitchens

If we start from the basis of the huge possibilities offered by the combination of black and white colours, we will understand the great potential they offer us when it comes to decorating a kitchen in a very elegant way. The mixture of these colours, or on their own, present a certain balanced harmony and works very well in a great diversity of styles to cover any space optimally.

One option that probably imposes itself when using these colours in the kitchens is to utilise white as the dominating colour whilst leaving the black to serve as a contrast. This happens especially in small kitchens or those that do not have much natural light, because here, the white colour acts as an excellent focus on brightness and emits the feeling of spaciousness. Here, the black colour on walls, furniture and accessories contribute to giving a very special point of elegance and distinction to our kitchen. Given this combination, the natural tone of the wood, whether on floors or on certain furniture, acquires a special liveliness.

However, it is becoming more frequent to take the risk and break the traditional line of decoration in all the rooms and, of course, also in kitchens. Black as a clearly predominant colour in the kitchen is especially indicated in those premises that are open or the ones that have some type of integration with living room or dining room, because of its great capacity to establish very clear differentiations between spaces. The options are very varied and you can use glossy black varnish on furnishings, tiles, and other features. Once again, the black colour's friendly relationship with white suggests you can use them on accessories in order to complement the room. An elegant and impressive option is to use stainless steel appliances to complement these rooms.

There is a long way to go when it comes to reaching a complete balance between the two colours so it is best to experiment with them first. It also largely depends on the taste of the owner as to whether they prefer white as a dominant colour or vice versa. The game of contrasts is so rich and varied that each one has its possibilities, because it's not just the furniture or the walls that can be painted in these colours, but also the flooring must match the same elegance as these eternal colours; black and white.ezcla de estos eternos compañeros antagónicos: el blanco y el negro.
