Madrid in the top 3 of the best cities in the world to live in

"From Madrid to heaven" is a proverb that has long been used by the locals. But now, it seems that foreigners who come to the capital to expand their careers, attend university, or enjoy the holiday season also agree with the locals. This is why Madrid has been ranked as the third best city in the world to live in.

That is what the latest 2016 Expat Insider survey from the expat service community, Networking Service InterNations, has revealed recently. A total of 35 cities from around the world were assessed for this survey. This study, considered to be one of the most accurate, extensive, and detailed was drawn up as a survey carried out among 14,000 people, who were asked about various factors, such as their job expectations, quality of life in their city, their daily experiences, the attitude of the population towards them, and even the working day and the climate.

According to the results from the InterNations survey, Madrid has exceeded expectations for expats when compared to those who live in Melbourne, Australia and Houston, USA. Such is the rooting that provokes Madrid among its visitors, confirmming that nine out of ten immigrants who are living in the capital are in fact very happy with their stay. No doubt, no one better than those people who live long periods of time in a strange country, far away from their own home, have the right to state their views at this survey.

The classification of the cities was based on the score obtained from different factors and the capital of Spain topped all the other categories referring to the way in which the city and its inhabitants welcomes the expatriates as well as the facilities offered to make friends. The rental prices, cheaper than most other European cities, were also another factor positively valued by respondents.

Among other issues that have led Madrid to be placed third in the classification of cities that are more welcoming to foreigners, the high quality of transport and the great nightlife are among the most appreciated together with the excellent healthcare system.
This is the third time that InterNations, a social network that contributes to the connection of expatriates around the world and has more than one million registered users, has carried out such survey.
