As confirmed by the NGO Action Against Hunger, there are currently 795 million people living at risk of dying from malnutrition. In fact, hunger is the second leading cause of infant mortality in the world. Although the causes of child hunger are well known, the solution is very economical and simple. This is why 270 restaurants in Madrid have launched a campaign under the title 'Restaurants Against Hunger'.
Restaurants Against Hunger: an ambitious charity project in Madrid
Restaurants Against Hunger is, without doubt, the most ambitious charity project in the hospitality sector. Specifically, it has been promoted by the NGO Action Against Hunger in collaboration with the Federación Española de Hostelería (Spanish Federation of Hotels) and will take place from 15th September to 15th October 2016. It involves the likes of chef, Joan Roca, who is one of the main faces in this campaign.
The way this project works is very simple, hence the reason it has become so successful. These restaurants join the campaign against world hunger by using the Web for raising awareness. In return for their campaign, these restaurants will enjoy countless benefits. On the one hand, the image of their establishment is strengthened, helping them to attract new customers. On the other, they will enjoy tax reductions ranging from 35 to 75 per cent, depending on each case.
