Madrid's Centro district condenses many of the most emblematic places of the city, offering every atttaction you can think of.
In this area, we can find the most important art museums in the world, forming the Prado-Thyssen-Reina Sofía and powerhouses such as the Congreso de los Diputados, as well as representative sites in Madrid such as the Palacio Real (Royal Palace), Catedral de la Almudena, la Plaza Mayor or la Puerta del So the Almudena Cathedral, the Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, to name just a few examples.
Administratively, the district is divided into neighbourhoods: Palacio, Embajadores, Cortes, Justicia, Universidad and Sol. Although they are best known for their informal names:
