The charm of decorating in 'British' style

The British lifestyle is a compendium of cultural traits strongly rooted in a society proud of its past and its uniqueness. The 'British' style takes its inspiration from fashion collections to car models that pass through different trends in interior decoration. And it is that the stately British environments give a point of distinction to any home, which is something that interior designers know how to exploit much to the delight of the lucky residents and buyers who see this as a good investment opportunity.

In general, the British or British style is characterised by combining elements of modern inspiration with classical designs in perfect harmony. For that reason, the coloured upholstery is a very habitual resource although it usually is mixed with some of the colours of the British flag (red, blue and white) and without reaching in any case to the chromatic saturation. On many occasions, the recognisable Union Jack logo is clearly drawn on cushions, curtains or even on the furniture itself.

But this is not the only hallmark of the style. Rustic furniture or ones with a certain air of longevity and wear also stand out in the 'British' decoration, with special attention to the little tables, chests of drawers, beds and even the shelves. As for the furniture that escapes this tendency, one can advocate avant-garde designs with predominance of steel and ornamental austerity. Finally, natural lighting is another highlight of this interior vision, with white walls or very light colours that amplify this feeling.

To make an example of the aspects described above, we located a really luxury penthouse in an exclusive area in Madrid. The neighbourhood of Salamanca is especially lavish with cosy and exquisitely decorated houses. This includes a 'British' style apartment in Recoletos. With a living space of over 240 sqm and an attractive terrace of 15 sqm, the apartment offers exceptional facilities and the layout is perfectly arranged. The flooring, decking, and the heating system all make the indoor environment highly pleasant.

Engel & Voelkers offers you a unique location, with an interesting south-facing orientation that allows the maximum use of natural lighting throughout most of the house ( and consequently saving you money on energy bills). The terrace is divided into three sections and is visible from the dining room. It is possible to use the terrace for whatever occasion you see fit. The dining room also has capacity for ten guests, who will be fully pleased with everything that's prepared in a kitchen equipped with modern appliances.
