The 10 commandments of the organised gurus

The decoration of any house not only needs good taste and harmony, but also order. This is why we, from the Valencia real estate company, want to explain the 10 commandments that the interior design gurus always put into practice.

1. Keep whatever that makes you happy.

It is completely normal to store objects that are useless. The best way is to declutter from time to time and give the stuff you no longer want to someone who will benefit from it.

2. Get rid of the old before you buy new

Before making a purchase, it is vital to get rid of the old item before replacing it with a new one. You also have to think about where it is going to be placed in your home.

3. The 'just in case' does not exist

The reality is that in the world of decoration, the less you have, the happier you will be. There is something positive about getting rid of things every day: you will always have something new to enjoy.

4. Find out what you really like

At a time when modernity and minimalism reign in decoration, perfection is achieved by creating functional spaces that spin around a single theme. Music, books or paintings are good examples, as long as you do not mix them up.

5. Throw away the 'post-it' notes

You can have a nice blackboard on which, for example, you write the shopping list, but filling the house with 'post-it' notes is a bad idea if you want to feel that your house is completely in order. Using the mobile phone is another good option.

6. Put what you need at your fingertips

Cabinets with doors are generally linked with disorder. Therefore, in the bedrooms as well as in the kitchen, it is best to reduce the cabinets to a minimum and expose everything that is going to be used in your day to day life.

7. Save space

Learning how to fold rolled up clothes can help you maximise the space of your closets and towel racks. In addition, your clothing will be less susceptible to wrinkling and more accessible whenever you want to wear it

8. A space for the basics

In your home, preferably at the entrance hall, there must be a place where you can store the keys and other important items. Just remember that you should never have a bin in that part of the house.

9. Spend time on tidying up

Only 15 minutes a day is all you need to clear the kitchen counter, the cabinet under the sink or the living room table and put back the items where they belong.

10. Possessions are not part of you

You may believe that you will not be able to live without a specific item, but we, the real estate agents in Valencia, will assure you that this is not true.
