The flat is located in the second ring surrounding the Castle of Armenzano, where you can park your car in the garage or in front of the flat.
The castle was owned by Count Napoleone di Umbertino dei Monaldi, a friend of the saint from Assisi, San Francesco, who was a guest in the castle many times.
The castle dates back to the 13th century, but thanks to the ancient coins found in the village, and currently kept at the Numismatic Museum of the University of Perugia, it has been possible to ascertain the existence of the settlement since the Roman Republican age.
Walking through the characteristic alleys of the village, one breathes in a very suggestive atmosphere. The location is panoramic, and from its large terrace or balconies you can enjoy views of the surrounding hills and Monte Subasio.

Armenzano is located in the Monte Subasio Regional Park, on the eastern flank of Monte Subasio, 8 km east from Assisi. The historic village is one of the rare examples where there is an almost total absence of light pollution, making it an ideal area for astronomical observation, but it is also of interest to those who enjoy walking along the numerous paths and trails immersed in nature between old mills, Roman bridges, medieval bridges, feeling the flow of water from the Tescio river and small waterfalls with natural pools. At Christmas time in Armenzano and its alleys, a 'Presepe vivente' is performed, very suggestive and appreciated by the umbrians.
All services can be found in Assisi. A few km from Armenzano there is a major road leading to the motorway both north and south. In Assisi there is a railway station connected to the main Italian cities.
The Perugia airport, 'San Francesco di Assisi', is 25 minutes away by car from Armenzano. Rome and Florence can be reached by car in about 2 hours.
