The first evidence of this church complex dates back to the Middle Ages. The Church was at the service of a fortified castle, not far from the site and still existing. Being on the border between the powerful municipalities of central Italy such as Perugia, Siena or Florence and the Papal State and thanks to its important position for controlling the countryside north of Lake Trasimeno, it is undoubtedly a complex with a high historical value.
