What you should know about this house

Amenities and special features of this house

Within a small medieval village and on the top of a green rural hill surrounded by typical Italian countryside stands this 1600 gorgeous noble palace. Built by the Vannicelli family who owned the property until the early 1900s, the palace has kept its original shape as well as the original cotto floors, doors and windows. The Palazzo is situated off the small main piazza at the top of the centro storico in Lugnano in Teverina, with the two-thirds of the front facade visible from the piazza. The three residential floors are centered around a main large stone staircase. The first and second floors have a large main corridor with rooms leading off the corridor while the third floor has rooms leading off a central landing. A full refurbishment of the house, garden and Tower, was done in 2013, meticulously conserving and restoring the original architectural features throughout, including a complete new roof, new electrical wiring and plumbing, replastering internally and externally, restoration of small parts of the frescoed ceilings, and restoration of the original cotto floors throughout the house. The Palace extends its surface for approximately 1,700 square meters, partitioned between 1000 sqm of the noble part and 700 sqm of utility rooms. The noble palace faces the centre of the main village pizza and overlooks the Tiber valley with wonderful, wide and panoramic windows. Developed on three levels, it inlcudes in many areas stunning vaulted and frescoed ceilings, and exposed wooden beam ceilings. The frescoes can all be dated between XVII and XIX centuries, in particular three of them are from 1790, and they have been restored to enhance their original splendour. In the basement it is still possible to see right in front of your eyes the former roadbed used by the old horse-drawn carriages.Adjacent to the Palazzo can be found a 120 square meters fenced garden inside which there is an ancient rainwater collection tank still connected and working.Crossing a small street near the garden you will find a medieval tower which belongs to the Property.
