Giuseppe Tassini in his celebrated "Curiosità Veneziane" (Venetian Curiosities), thus describes the street that in 1866 was dedicated to General Giuseppe Garibaldi: "It was built in 1807, burying the brook that ran between two foundations, and was then also called Via Eugenia in honor of the Viceroy of Italy Eugene Beauharnais. The Public Gardens began to be laid out in the same year 1807, following the decree of Emperor Napoleon, who wanted to provide his good city of Venice with a public promenade". Always full of life, one can still savor that Venetian-ness as rare as it is fascinating, made up of stores and taverns, market stalls and dialect. And it is precisely on the most beautiful side (the one facing east), of this famous street, that a beautiful exclusive doorway gives us access to our property, articulated on the ground and first floors of an elegant pre-19th-century building. The Castello district, the largest and one of the oldest in Venice, is located at the eastern end of the city. Commission Details
