"Palladio Villa", overlooking the Großer Wannsee

Among Berlin’s historic villa colonies in the southwest, Wannsee stands out for its particularly beautiful natural setting. Originally conceived as a summer retreat, Wannsee soon attracted Berlin industrialists, intellectuals and artists, who built magnificent villas there. The Siemens Villa on Kleiner Wannsee, the Max Liebermann Villa and Villa Arons on Großer Wannsee, offered here, are examples of the area’s many historic architectural monuments. Then as now, the social life of the area centres around its numerous sports clubs, sailing and rowing associations, and elegant golf club. Located between Berlin and the state capital Potsdam, Kurfürstendamm and Sanssouci Palace can both be reached in approximately 15 minutes by car. Shops for everyday needs, restaurants and cafés can be found around Wannsee S-Bahn and long-distance railway station and along Königstraße, both just a few minutes’ walk away. Numerous schools and kindergartens complete the excellent infrastructure.
