Every spring, ARCOmadrid transforms IFEMA Madrid into one of the major meeting points for contemporary art in Europe. For several days, gallerists, collectors, artists and industry professionals walk through the fair’s halls in search of new proposals, trends and perspectives on the current artistic landscape.

In its 2026 edition, the fair once again brought together some of the most relevant galleries on the international scene, consolidating its role within the European cultural calendar. But beyond the works on display, ARCOmadrid is also a space where conversations emerge, ideas are exchanged and connections between creative disciplines take shape.

The Engel & Völkers Guest Lounge at ARCOmadrid 2026

In this context, Engel & Völkers participated as a sponsor of the fair with a presence in the Guest Lounge, the area reserved for invited guests and professionals.

This space, one of the most distinctive areas of ARCOmadrid, changes its concept and design every year. In this edition, the project was inspired by the wildfires in Galicia, a proposal that invited visitors to reflect on landscape, the transformation of territory and collective memory.

Within this setting, the Engel & Völkers space was conceived as a meeting point for visitors to the Guest Lounge. A place to take a break during the tour of the fair, comment on a newly discovered artwork or exchange impressions about the galleries participating in this edition.

Part of this experience took shape through a barista activation where guests were able to enjoy Colombian specialty coffee, accompanied by infusions from the brand Guilis.

The 1st Engel & Völkers PERFILES Award at ARCOmadrid

One of the highlights of Engel & Völkers’ participation in ARCOmadrid 2026 was the creation of the 1st Engel & Völkers PERFILES Award, an initiative aimed at recognizing the work of Latin American galleries present at the fair.

The winning gallery of this first edition was Patrón, selected for its artistic proposal and its contribution to the contemporary dialogue within the international art scene.

With this award, Engel & Völkers seeks to support the visibility of Latin American art on one of the most influential stages of the European art market.

A private visit for lifestyle press

During the fair, a private guided visit was also organized for a small group of journalists from some of Spain’s leading lifestyle publications.

Among them were media outlets such as Vogue España, publications from the Hearst España group, Gentleman and Hola Living, among others.

The visit, held on Thursday, March 5, offered the opportunity to explore the fair from a more relaxed perspective, discovering some of the most relevant proposals of this edition while creating a space for conversation between art, culture and lifestyle.

Art, architecture and ways of living

The relationship between art and architecture has historically been close. Both languages engage in a dialogue about the way we inhabit spaces and how those spaces influence our daily experience.

Events such as ARCOmadrid highlight this connection between creativity, territory and contemporary culture. In this context, initiatives such as the Guest Lounge, press encounters or the creation of new artistic awards help expand the experience of the fair beyond the exhibition of artworks.

Art thus becomes a starting point for conversation, reflection and the exchange of ideas.

ARCOmadrid 2026, a cultural meeting point in Madrid

The 2026 edition of ARCOmadrid has once again confirmed the fair’s role as one of the main meeting points for contemporary art in Europe. According to figures published by the organizers, thousands of professionals and visitors walked through the fair’s halls during the days of the event, reinforcing its relevance within the international cultural calendar.

In this context, initiatives such as the Guest Lounge, private visits or new artistic awards extend the experience of the fair beyond the exhibition of artworks, turning it into a space for dialogue and collaboration.
