Over the last two decades, the growing popularity of the climate, geography and flora of the southern province of Alicante has led to the development of several high quality courses, many of them located less than 30 minutes drive from the city of Torrevieja. For many years, golf on the Costa Blanca meant playing the renowned courses of Campoamor, Las Ramblas and Villamartin. However, the newer courses bring their own unique and fun golfing experiences, with a variety of challenges and spectacular scenery.

Vistabella Golf
Vistabella Golf, with its large lake, strategic bunkers, tricky greens and undulating fairways, is a challenging course but also one of the most attractive and unique in the area. Many greens are undulating and challenging, but they are in excellent condition and really work. The slopes are steep, but the views are picturesque. Players will enjoy the course from start to finish.
Friendly staff, excellent condition of the course and delicious food. Highly recommended.
Tough course, but all handicap levels will enjoy it.

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club
A picturesque "American style" golf course, with a stunning mountain backdrop and many lakes on the sides of the fairways and greens to collect errant balls. There is plenty of native wildlife in the desert spas that separate the greens. The staff are friendly and helpful.
We recommend a buggy (or an individual scooter - highly recommended) due to the undulation and long distances from the greens to the next tees.
This is a challenging but fun, with fast greens and unique holes. Free range balls before the round.
One of the most expensive courses in the area, but great fun and a must play at least once.

Las Ramblas Golf Course
The large and generous greens of Las Ramblas are situated on a steep terrain surrounded by water. The vegetation is made up of lush Mediterranean pines that form a spectacular backdrop. It is a hilly course that wraps around the rugged natural terrain, resulting in many slopes from tee to green and dog-leg holes with blind shots off the tee. The first 9 holes are challenging but very scenic, while the last 9 holes are more "straightforward" but longer. The Hollywood movie Taken 3 starring Liam Neeson, was filmed here.
This is a challenging course, suitable for low and medium handicappers. Highly recommended for the unique golf experience it offers. This is a must play at least once.

Villamartin is a landmark in the Valencian community and one of the most established courses in the region which was designed by the renowned Californian architect Robert Dean Puttman in 1972. This mature course has various types of vegetation and spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. The international quality greens are not too small and each hole, set in natural undulating terrain, is completely different. This golf course hosted the Mediterranean Open in 1994 and a European Tour qualifier in 1997. Check current reviews for course conditions and round times, as they have raised concerns amongst recent players.

La Marquesa Golf
This spectacular course, which can be played by golfers of all levels, is situated in a flat valley just north of Torrevieja. Lakes and streams border the pine and palm tree lined course, which will test your skills. There is a good variety between short and long holes. The course is mostly flat for the first 9 holes with some variation for the last 9 holes. Friendly and helpful staff and excellent facilities. Highly recommended and really enjoyable.

La Finca Resort
La Finca is known for its beautiful course with some challenging holes. There are quite a few lakes, which adds an extra level of difficulty to the game. The course itself is very nature friendly and is home to various migratory birds such as herons and ducks. There is an impressive variety of greens and generous fairways. Each hole is unique and interesting. This is an impressive place with its own popular hotel. Highly recommended. A charming hotel.

Real Club de Golf Campoamor
The 18 holes of this golf course run through two interconnected valleys, engulfed by gentle, low rolling ridges. It is a fair course, so you don't have to be a low handicap player to enjoy the game and accumulate the 36 stableford points. The natural terrain surrounding Real Club de Golf Campoamor protects the course from strong winds, making it a pleasant course to play outside of the summer.

Roda Golf & Beach Resort
It is not a Nicklaus design, so there are no residential properties on the sides of the fairways and this allows a feeling of more space while playing. It is a unique environment. This is a tranquil.
To consider if staying at the resort, be aware that buggies are not allowed off the golf course, so it can be quite a hike from your accommodation to the golf club.

Hacienda Riquelme Golf
The Hacienda Riquelme golf course offers fairways between lakes, rich wild flowers and olive groves. Some of the greens have numerous contours, so knowledge of the course is important and a good iron approach shot can easily make the difference between a 3 putt and an easy 2 putt. The undulating contours of the fairways and tricky greens make for challenging golf.
The course is in good condition and the staff is friendly and helpful. Very hot in summer (it is quite a bit further from the sea than many of the other courses mentioned here), so perhaps some of the other windier coastal courses would be better in the warmer months. Highly recommended outside July and August.

A picturesque golf course situated parallel to the sea on the Mar Menor. The course offers the challenge of 16 lakes with the combination of Levante winds, so will reward strategic play - lay up is never a bad option. This is a challenging but fair and enjoyable course for all levels of golfer. The good value makes it more attractive, and the cooling sea breeze helps in the summer months.
