Playa Flamenca is one of the most central and convenient residential areas of Orihuela Costa. It enjoys quick access to Torrevieja centre, airports in Alicante and Murcia, a variety of beaches, and many nearby golf courses. It is a popular choice for both first homes and second homes for foreigners throughout Europe.

Playa Flamenca boasts four magnificent white sand beaches, each with clean, sparkling waters. Two of these beaches, Cala Mosca and Cala las Estacas (also known as Playa Flamenca Beach), are Blue Flag accredited beaches. These crescent-shaped beaches, nestled within coves, offer swimmers protection from strong currents and waves. Playa Canina, a dog-friendly beach, is located next to Cala Mosca.

A wide-paved promenade separates the two main beaches. This promenade, dotted with Mexican fan palm trees, has public seating areas and a children's park. Alongside the promenade, you will find local shops, bistros, cafes, and restaurants.

The fourth beach, Cala Cabo Peñas, is a secluded, unspoiled, and pristine beach that can only be accessed via a small hike. Unlike Cala Mosca and Cala las Estacas, Cala Cabo Peñas is not monitored by lifeguards.

Playa Flamenca activities

The Playa Flamenca beachfront is a great location for hiring watersports equipment, especially for scuba diving and snorkelling. You can participate in guided dives around marine reserves, reefs, and wrecks from beach-based establishments that also offer PADI Scuba Diving courses. In addition, you can enjoy a boat trip to Tabarca Island or take a fishing trip from Cabo Roig, just a 4-minute drive from Playa Flamenca.

For those who enjoy cycling, bike hire is a convenient option for exploring the area. Fitness enthusiasts can cycle to the lakes of La Mata and Torrevieja, where you can indulge in a curative mud bath. Some of the most impressive natural and historic walks include those around the Torrelamata nature reserve and the heritage buildings in nearby Orihuela city.

The Scand Clinic Vårdcentral medical centre is located 400 metres from Playa Flamenca Beach on Calle Pablo Picasso. The Centro De Salut, De Orihuela Costa public medical centre in Dehesa de Campoamor is 4.3 kilometres away, while the University Hospital of Torrevieja is 5.5 kilometres away.

Playa Flamenca has two Spanish state-schools within the community: IES Playa Flamenca and Escuela Infantil Planetarium. The El Limonar International School, located in nearby Villamartin, is just 14 minutes away by car.

Shopping centres and markets

For your everyday needs, you can shop at Carrefour, Lidl, or Mercadona supermarkets. The Zenia Boulevard shopping centre, located nearby, is home to over 200 shops, including supermarkets, boutiques, and leisure facilities.
